I decided to go down to the water because earlier in the week I had seen chunks of ice across the ice, and I thought a picture of those would look really cool. I ended up finding these mismatched, abandoned flip-flops and thought that it would make and ironic picture to have a picture of them on the rocks in the winter.
I saw these lights hanging on a tree in my yard and thought it could be a cool photo from underneath. I thought the isolated dots of light in the dark would be cool, kind of like a frozen firework.
When I went down to the water I brought my dog with me. I was photographing the flip-flops I found and my dock came up over the rock. I thought it was an interesting frozen motion picture. He's also in kind of a funny pose, which is what made me like this photo.
