This project was a great way to keep myself thinking creatively and to start to brainstorm ideas about what I might want to focus on this year. I will probably morph or transfer some of my ideas from the project into my projects for the rest of the year. I especially want to try to do something that mimics stained glass. I think my favorite page is the ‘Calm’ collage that I made. I love the different pieces of it, and the yellow and orange theme is very soothing to me. It’s bright, but not blinding. It gives me a bunch of different things to look at, but they still all go together.
I’d say I spent a fair amount of time on this project. I worked on it throughout the summer and tried to make sure that each page had a theme. This was my favorite summer assignment so I definitely spent a lot of time on it comparatively. I would say the end result isn’t stunning or especially interesting, but it shows how my ideas were flowing through my head. It lets me see different parts of my life and creative ideas that I love in my head on paper.
I would give myself a 3, maybe a 3.5 on this. I definitely did put a lot of effort into it, but the end result is not outstanding. I spent time formulating the ideas and images and placement on my collages, and I tested out ideas before committing to them fully. I let myself explore ideas I had in my mind map and kind of let the words run free, which is something I like to do to get the words out of my head.
