My final words on ceramics piece shows a poem about nature, which is something I love and feel connected to. It talks about the ocean, which is something I have loved since I was little and spend as much time in and around as possible. It also talks about other parts of nature that make me happy, like birds, leaves, the sun, and the breeze.
I am happy with my work on it. I like the blue and the red, i think those parts look really good. I’m a little disappointed that the yellow and green didn’t show up. I didn’t really expect the green to show up because I didn’t see any previous examples with green on them, but the yellow looked nice on other ones so I was excited to see it on mine. Those color changes wouldn’t have happened if it was kiln fired though, so it all comes from the wood fire. I do like the brownish gray color that comes from wood firing though.
My Poem:
Sunshine warm on skin
Birds and the breeze drifting around
Green leaves swaying
Ocean salt stuck to my lips
The scent of summer lingers in the air
