Shadow Photography

Purpose:
To use a shadow to enhance your artwork; tell a story; or even interact with your viewer;
To create your own "shadow" photography by setting up items to photograph, going outside and looking for natural shadow art in the world, allowing someone to interact with the shadow, or even allowing the shadow to interact with the world.
Ceiling Visitor
On a sunny afternoon, a bright area from the window curtains formed on the ceiling. I placed my hand in a way that looked like someone was trying to get inside the room. I also think the textured pattern on the top windows provides a cool effect.
Angel Fountain
There's this broken angel fountain in my barn and I thought it would be a good model. I think the tarp behind worked as a good background so that the angel shadow could be precisely defined and you could tell what it is.
Windy Night
When it was lightly raining outside, I thought using an umbrella for shadow photography would be neat. It was hard to get the umbrella's exact shadow so I just placed it on the ground and made a shadow of myself grabbing it. I think it works out because my stretched arm makes the scene look like the umbrella is flying away or that it's windy outside.
