Op Art and illusions 

Purpose: 

• Identify Optical Illusions artwork and artists

• Understand science behind OpArt

• Manipulate space and shapes to create an illusion of depth, 3D Quality

• Use Patterns and repetition to achieve tricking the eye

Artists studied: Marina Apollonio, Bridget Riley, Omar Rayo 

How do Op Artists change how we perceive a 2D surface? In what ways did you do this in your work? 

Op artists are able to change our perspectives becauase they understand different planes and curves of lines. They're able to use the bending and movement of the lines to trick our eyes and see things that might not be there. I showed this in my work by bending and changing the perspective as well as adding shading to increase the depth of the art.
