Smoke Fired Form

Purpose: Experience an ancient method of creating surface decoration for bisqued clay.

To get this form, I started shaping it to resemble a pinch pot. Then I worked the sides up, closing the top and creating a hollow shape. For the design, I wrapped leaves and pine needles around the form. 

I liked how the design came out. I think that it was cool seeing the shape of the leaves on the form. If I was to do this again, I would wonder how it would come out if I used a different shape.
