During the 2025–2026 school year, we developed a renovation plan for the playground. All students and teachers took part by sharing their ideas about what they would like the playground to look like. These ideas were then collected and shared, and each class incorporated the playground redesign into their project work. The outcomes presented here are the result of the collaborative effort of our entire educational community.

Thanks to the mobilities carried out during the previous academic year, a process of transformation and renovation of the school playground has been initiated. This project has involved the entire educational community, promoting collaborative work among students, teachers, and families. In addition, a specific unit focused on the improvement and redesign of this space has been incorporated into the annual classroom projects, encouraging students’ active participation in decision-making and in the creation of proposals for a more inclusive, educational, and recreational playground.
Among the actions implemented, there has been an installation of shade sails, creating a shaded area with the support of the local council.
Conflict resolution staircases have also been painted in two areas of the playground as part of the Year 3 project. These staircases guide students step by step through different stages to help them find solutions to their problems while developing empathy, autonomy, and emotional management skills.
Furthermore, new games have been designed and created, including the painting of various playground activities on the ground. A school vegetable garden has also been established and is managed together with students with special educational needs, with the aim of encouraging the active participation of all students and promoting their inclusion within the school’s educational project.
In addition, the Early Childhood playground has undergone a complete renovation through the project of the 5 years old class, carried out in collaboration with families. This initiative has enabled the installation of a playhouse and a new slide, among other things, enriching opportunities for play, exploration, and learning for the youngest pupils.
Regular meetings have also been held between teachers and students to discuss proposals, make joint decisions, and define the desired playground model, conceived as an inclusive, educational, and recreational space. We will keep working around this renovation in the upcoming years.
