In May 2022, we had another opportunity to visit a school in Vienna, Austria this time for a job shadowing experience, where three of our teachers visited the school GTVS 12 Ganztagsvolksschule Am Schöpfwerk.

This experience allowed us to observe how the school emphasizes appreciation, mindfulness, and support, with the goal of providing personalized, diverse, and engaging lessons while fostering a sense of community and trust. The school’s approach prioritizes creativity, learning, and discovery within a structured environment that upholds clear rules and routines.

The institution’s belief that the world itself is a classroom, which is reflected in their regular use of day trips and educational outings. Additionally, we were particularly impressed by their expansive playground, which provides a great space for physical activity and engagement with nature, contributing to the holistic development of their students.

In alignment with our objectives, we explored various ideas for enhancing our school playground, implementing several changes, particularly in the early childhood play area.
