In March 2022, we had the incredible opportunity to visit Zeki Altindag Ilkokulu, a school in Konya, Turkey. This experience allowed us to gain first-hand insight into the significant differences in educational systems and teaching methodologies across different parts of Europe. We observed distinct approaches to pedagogy, classroom management, and student engagement, which provided us with a broader perspective on education.
Beyond the academic and methodological aspects, the cultural exchange was equally impactful. The experience of immersing ourselves in a different cultural environment was eye-opening, as we were able to appreciate new traditions, customs, and ways of life that enriched our understanding of diversity.
This visit was truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that broadened our horizons, allowing us to learn from alternative perspectives and reflect on how education and culture shape our experiences and interactions in an increasingly globalized world.
Here are some images that represent key moments from our stay in Konya, showing both the educational experience and the rich cultural exchange we had the opportunity to be part of.
Here is a video summary highlighting one of our days in Konya.
During the stay, a Padlet was developed as a detailed diary to document and share the entire experience.
