In April 2026 two teachers participated in a formative course about Project-Based Learning (PBL), in Paris, France. The course focused on innivative teaching strategies and aimed in the increasing of students' motivation, promoting deeper learning, and developing key 21st century competences.
Throughout the week, participants explored the principles of Project-Based Learning (PBL) and learned how to integrate curriculum content into student-centered projects connected to real-life contexts. The training provided practical tools and methodologies to foster critical thinking, collaboration, autonomy, creativity, and problem-solving skills among students. As our school already embraces the High Tech High approach and PBL methodologies, this course offered our teachers an excellent opportunity to deepen their understanding of these practices, gain fresh perspectives, and discover new strategies for implementation. The experience enriched their professional skills and provided innovative ideas that can be incorporated into their daily teaching practice, further enhancing the quality and effectiveness of learning experiences for our students.
The course combined theoretical sessions with hands-on activities, allowing participants to design their own PBL lesson plans and assessment tools. They also examined different learning approaches, discussed effective assessment strategies, and shared experiences with educators from various European countries.
In addition to the professional development activities, the teachers took part in cultural visits and intercultural exchanges, enriching their understanding of European educational practices and strengthening international cooperation.
As a result of this mobility experience, our teachers gained valuable knowledge, practical resources, and increased confidence to implement Project-Based Learning in their classrooms. They are now prepared to create more engaging and meaningful learning experiences that help students develop lasting knowledge and essential lifelong skills.
Here is the diary about the formative course experience.
