Flu Season 2025...you will not be missed. While of course we ask our Brookside community to stay vigilant and mindful of our district illness & absence policy, the New Jersey (and Brookside) flu rates seem to be continuing to improve. Thank you to all of our studies, families, staff, and especially Mr. Donavan and our custodial crew for working together to help keep Brookside as healthy as possible this winter. Who's ready for spring?!
Pollen is coming, are you ready? If you know your child is prone to seasonal allergies and there is anything we can have ready to help keep them comfortable and having fun this spring at Brookside, please reach out to chat. I am more than happy to help your kids out with anti-histamines, eyedrops, nasal spray, or inhalers, but please be reminded that any medication to be administered at school, including other the counter medications that do not require a prescription to purchase, do require signed authorization from a parent and healthcare provider before I may administer them.
You can download a blank copy of our district Medication Authorization During School Hours form to print and discuss with your child's healthcare provider if you feel there are any medications they may benefit from during allergy season (or, of course, any other time of year!) Please feel free to contact me with any questions, I'm always happy to discuss options with you.
