If you are having difficulty obtaining health insurance for your child or obtaining medical care for them, Bergen County has a number of resources which may help. Please note these organizations are affiliated with the county but not the school, and for more specific information you will need to contact the organizations directly.
NJ FamilyCare offers low- or no-cost health insurance for eligible Bergen County residents.
The Northwest Bergen Regional Health Commission offers two clinics a month for Bergen County children who are uninsured or are covered by Medicare part A. These services include physicals and immunizations. Appointments are required, details are available on the website. (The Bergen Volunteer Medical Initiative offers health services to uninsured adults over the age of 18.)
Both the Center for Dentistry at HUMC and Bergen Community College's Dental Hygiene Clinic offer low-cost dental services by appointment for those without dental insurance.
There are a number of Bergen County Food Banks providing assistance to residents. Check listings for details and eligibility.
