Some of our Caring Cardinals help prepare the candy bags for donation. We had 11 bags total!
I am so grateful and proud of our Brookside students for donating 130 POUNDS of candy during our first annual Candy Swap. We were able to donate to multiple CareOne facilities in the area, and all expressed their sincere gratitude for our students' generosity. Way to go, Brookside! I can't wait to see how much we can collect next year.
The leaves (and the temperature) are dropping! Please make sure send your child in to school with seasonally appropriate clothes and an extra layer for recess, and hats/and or gloves as it gets colder. We do not have spare outerwear readily available in the health office, so help your kids stay warm and play on!
The holidays are coming! As we prepare for family, food, and fun, let's remember that special times can also cary special safety considerations. The Institute for Childhood Preparedness has some wonderful Thanksgiving Safety Tips to help keep everyone safe and happy from the parade through the pie. Check out their website for more!
Congratulations to our 3rd grade Brownie troop on earning your First Aid Badge! It was so fun meeting with you and practicing our skills together.

...that November is Epilepsy Awareness Month! Thank you to Mrs. Andrea Racioppi from Epilepsy Services of New Jersey, who visited our fifth grade classes on 11/21 to present on seizure first aid and answer student questions about seizures and epilepsy . Our fifth graders learned how to recognize some of the most common forms of seizures and the acronym TRUST to help remember what to do if someone is having a seizure. Thank you, Mrs. Racioppi!
