Calling all Handwashing Heroes!

From February 9th through February 16th, we are launching our first ever Brookside Handwashing Heroes Challenge! Students will discuss proper handwashing technique and when we should be washing their hands in morning meeting on Friday, February 9th with their homeroom classes. Look out for their hero-in-training sheets coming home with them! To become a certified handwashing hero, each student will need to teach four people in their lives proper handwashing technique. Please encourage your children to show off their new handwashing skills and ask them to teach you what they've learned! All students who complete the challenge will receive a certificate recognizing them as a Brookside Handwashing Hero, and the grade with the highest completion percentage will win a special prize!

Please note, we recognize that not all families have four members to teach. Students can teach their handwashing skills to anyone in their lives - family members, neighbors, friends, even their school nurse 😉. Lessons over FaceTime or Zoom are fine, too!
