Teacher of the Month-Mrs. Barbato
The Teacher of the Month is…(drum roll please!)...is Mrs. Barbato! Here what Mrs. Barbato said when she found out, “I feel proud and I’m encouraged to keep a good job as a teacher.” She totally deserved it! This special teacher describes herself as being patient. But, her students she’s a caring and fun teacher. They’re lucky to have a teacher like Mrs. Barbato! Did you know her favorite subject is reading? I love reading a lot too!📕 Her accomplishments are teaching her students how to read and she is very proud of her students. She should get a trophy for that!🏆If you needed a description of Mrs. Barbato’s class. She would say that her students keep her on her feet. Also, they’re very bright as in smart students. If you asked herstudents what is she like, they would say she’s awesome! Now that’s what I’m talking about! Congratulations to Mrs. Barbato for being Teacher of the Month!😃👍

Students of the Month!
Hareem
I wonder who the Students of the Month are? I know you are thinking wait I’m dying to find out who these amazing students are. You will very soon! Okay the first student is Hareem. She is a first grader in Mrs. Younghans’ class. She said her favorite teacher is a kindergarten teacher who’s name is Ms. Coons. She is also my Friday Friends teacher and she is so nice! Okay she also said that his favorite subject is science. To be honest I don’t like science that much but some people do so it’s okay. Oh this is a good one her favorite memory is when her and her friend became friends. That is such a good answer! I really wish I had a brain like that. Ooh one of her reasons to like school is that there is a large gym to play in! Also her favorite thing to do is paint. I would do that but I can’t even draw so painting would be bad. Apparently her goal for this year is to behave really well. The special which is gym is her favorite. I’m not gonna lie gym is also my favorite special! To me the color pink is okay but Hareem loves the color pink. Hareem’s answers surprised me and amazed me. She is so very lucky to be a Student of the Month.
Shea
The next Student of the Month is Shea! Let us see what she said. So Shea’s favorite teacher is Mrs.Zelazny who is also her first grade teacher. Did you know I had Mrs.Zelazny for half of the year in first grade. I have to say that she is one of the best teachers at School 29!
Shea’s favorite subject is science. A lot of people like science. Oh and her favorite memory is this years 1st day of school. I’m sure there are a lot of people who also has that favorite memory because this school is the best! OK the next one is the reason to like school and she said Everything. That is absolutely correct. She also said that her favorite thing to do is draw. I hope she can teach me how to draw because I am terrible at drawing! Her goals for this year are to be really smart but I am sure she has already accomplished that.
Anagha
This Student of the Month is Anagha and her favorite teacher and who also is her teacher Ms. Moast. Also her favorite subject is science. Oh, who would have guessed it!Why does everyone love science so much. It’s rigged. Oh and her favorite memory is her first day of school. I know a lot of people who love their first day of school. I know I do! Anaghas reason to like school is every fun thing that there is in school 29. So she basically likes everything because everything in our school is the best! What is her Favorite thing to do? She said it is to color. Let’s be honest who doesn’t like coloring! Goals for this year. Anaghas is to draw pictures neatly. That is also my goal for the year. My favorite special is gym but hers is computers and art. And last of all her favorite color is pink. Her choices are well made and well discussed.
Vivaan
His favorite teacher is Mrs. Ward and his favorite subject is Math. Finally someone who agrees with me. Apparently his favorite memory is this years Halloween. One of my favorite memories is Halloween from 2 years ago. Good old times. Back to Vivaan, his reason to like school is because they give things on holidays. That is a very funny answer I’m trying not to laugh! But it is also very true. He said that his favorite thing to do is to read books. That is a very good favorite thing to do.His goal for this year is to be really smart. Don’t you think he has already done that. What is your favorite special. Mine is gym and he agrees with me too. His is also gym! Last of all his favorite color is blue. MIne is not blue but green. Well everyone surprised me with their fabulous answers. They probably all already achieved their goals. BYE!!!

Veterans Day Newspaper
Hey guys! Did you know that around 6,000 veterans die each year from the risk of being veterans and standing up for the country? Veterans are very important people who stand up and work hard to keep us safe. There is a big difference in Memorial Day and Veterans Day. Well, on Memorial Day we remember all veterans that have died and we thank them. To honor veterans on Memorial Day, you can go to the parade or leave flowers on their graves. On Veterans Day, we honor all veterans that are alive and dead. We thank them and sometimes can even make them thank you cards. You can also donate money to them. We might not notice this but the veterans that fight for us, leave their families behind to just save the country. They save America more than their own families. Believe it or not, some veteran families have but some veterans have little children at home. Veterans are one of the most major forces we should give thanks too.

The Day of the Dead
The Day Of The Dead is celebrated on November 2. It is when the dead visit the world of the living. The hoilday is a mexican hoilday. The hoilday lasts for at least 2 days and did you know that the hoilday used to be for a month? The things that people do in the day of the dead are festivities and thanking their ancestors for the service and guidance for the family, and also you can wear the day of the dead makeup. You basically honor the dead. Like in the movie coco, when the holiday is the day of the dead and he travels all over to find his missing great grandfather. It was a very good movie and it teaches us that we should honor our anscestors. Personaly, I never celebrated The Day Of The Dead, but I like to learn more about the hoilday. Thepeople who first celebrated The Day Of The Dead is the people in Mexico. That is what The Day of The Dead is all about.

Election Day By: Zakeriah Sadiq
What is election day?
Election Day is a day where people are supposed to vote for any government, state officials, and president of the United States.
The last presidential election was in 2016. It was Hillary Clinton Versus Donald Trump. Donald Trump won and now is the president of The United States. Every four years, there is an election. But Barack Obama was a beloved president so he was president for eight years since he was a good president. Election day is not a holiday, it’s just a day that is legal by the government to vote. Thanksgiving
What is Thanksgiving exactly?Well,Thanksgiving is an American holiday that takes place on the day of November 28.On this day,we are thankful for the things in our life that make us happy.Im thankful for the life that I live right now,and all the amazing people that made it possible!
On this day,Americans have many traditions. Many people in America have big feasts as turkey as the main course.People also may watch Macy’s Thanksgiving parade on TV that takes place in New York City.If you ever get to go to NYC,you should check out the parade.Speaking of traveling, other people may see their friends or family.Sometimes, friends or family may live too far away. For this reason, people use methods of transportation such as cars, planes, trains, etc.A surprising fact,Thanksgiving is one of the busiest days for traveling of the year!
Other people take their time off of this holiday to help out the poor. They volunteer in homeless shelters or even are generous enough to give the poor people living on the streets food.Doesn’t that just warm your heart?
I think overall Thanksgiving is just a really nice time to get together with friends or family and have fun. It’s also a really nice time for the unfortunate too!

Hey, everyone! Who hear wants to learn about Black Friday! Me! Well, let me tell you about the history of Black Friday. It all started in November 1951, and again in 1952. The Factory Management and Maintenance company referred this day for a sick day for all workers. Well, there aren't sick days anymore because dude, it's 2019! Black Friday is currently on November 29 right after Thanksgiving. Let me tell you why there's a Black Friday deal now! It's because every year, shops have sales (about 20% to 50% off), so we all can buy clothes, or other things so they get money. There are a lot of good clothes for not that much money! But, there are a LOT of lines. When I went to the mall this Black Friday, there was a line for Gucci and it went across the hall. That's a lot! There are also not many parking spaces. It is usually filled up by 9:00 - 10:00. I know that from experience. This Black Friday, my family and I were at the mall at 7:00 A.M! That's pretty early! On Black Friday, I buy a lot of clothes and more, every year! Beware reader, next Black Friday is going to CROWDED! Crowded I tell you!
I think Black Friday is a busy day for everyone. Next Black Friday, I hope all of you enjoy it and get lots of things! Goodbye (for now)!!!!

The dinosaur of the month is the yutyrannus. The name yutyrannus means “feathered tyrant.” The yutyrannus was the largest feathered theropod to ever live. The yutyrannus was about 10 meters long and 3 meters tall. Now that’s scary. The yutyrannus lived in the early cretaceous period about 124 to 113 million years ago. The yutyrannus was a tyrannosaurid so it came from the same family as the tyrannosaurus rex. The yutyrannus was a carnivore and one of its favorite foods was a dinosaur called the psittacosaurus . The psittacosaurus was a hadrosaur, another group of dinosaurs that were herbivores and were commonly referred to duck billed dinosaurs. Hadrosaurs had jaws that were flattened, like the bill of the duck. We know the yutyrannus from three nearly complete specimens. The specimens include an adult, a juvenile, and a subadult.

Tolerance & Responsibility
Tolerance is about being calm about other people's religion or race. To have tolerance you can include people in the game you play so they don’t feel left after all they do have feelings. Another thing you can do is that when you are in a group project or just in groups you can give everyone an equal spread of jobs. If you are fair people will be fair to you just like the Golden rule . Being fair will make the other person feel happy and you don’t know what you might have done to make a person happy. Just one thing to be tolerant of others .
Responsibility
Responsibility is technically doing what is expected of you. Here are some tips. Have good time management. Do everything on time. Don't take advantage of the extra time you have, you should do something productive. Want more tips , I shall give. To earn responsible trust you should do what you say and don't let go. This is all for now.

Winter Solstice
Winter Solstice is the shortest day of the year, and marks the beginning of winter. This usually takes place in June 21 in the South hemisphere and December 22 in the North hemisphere. This day has the shortest day, but longest night, but summer Solstice is the exact opposite. Did you know that during the Solstice the sun seems to be at the lowest point in the sky? An anonymous author once said, “Now it is the time to honor the rebirth of the sun, to remember the light in the darkest part of the season with hope of good things to come, and the promise of a renewed life.” This is an example of a belief many people have of winter Solstice. Many people believe winter Solstice is actually the rebirth of the sun, and welcomes the sun by promising more sunny, bright days in the future.
Activities to do on Winter Solstice
make d.i.y. Winter Solstice lanterns

Pearl Harbor Attack
Folks first before we start let’s loosen up about this topic. Pearl Harbor in Hawaii was attacked on December 7, 1941. Did you know this is just the day before the United States entered World War 2 to intervene and stop the war. Japan part of the Axis powers attacked and the United States gave a hefty revenge and that was to drop two nuclear bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki . Wait I’m getting ahead of myself so let’s have a little bit of history. Japan was a big part in World War 2. Japan’s imperial army thought of this plan a long time before it was executed. They attacked on port’s naval base on a beautiful Sunday morning.
There is an estimate of about 2,300 Americans died during this event. The U.S.S Nevada was say the Pledge of Allegiance when this happened to be exact. A couple minutes after the attack, Hawaii’s Royal Air Force ( RAF) started fighting the Japanesse fighter airplane. It was still a drop in the bucket at the end of the day.
The president at that time was Franklin D. Roosevelt. He called it “ a day which will live in infamy,”. At that time those words were powerful. In total the Bombing Of Pearl Harbor destroyed a lot of battleships. Japanesse surrendered after the 2 nuclear bombs. They surrendered on September 2, 1945 but the announced they surrender by Emperor Hirohito on August 15.

Do you like cookies? Well I do and my favorite are the ones we make for christmas. My favorite recipe is the Double Chocolate Crinkle Cookie. These cookies are traditional Christmas cookies that are better than the rest because they have soft centers with crisp crackly edges and are extra thick if you bake them right! Well now that I told you about them, of course you will want to know how to make them, right? Well it is pretty simple but hard sometimes.
So the INGREDIENTS are :
1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
1/2 cup + 2 Tablespoons (53g) unsweetened natural cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 stick (1/2 cup; 115g) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
1/2 cup (100g) packed light or dark brown sugar
1 large egg, at room temperature
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 cup (180g) mini or regular size semi-sweet chocolate chips

Do you guys know what Toys for Tots is? It actually started off with Mrs. Stephan. She eventually stopped doing it, and Mrs. Passarelli, and Mrs. Thomas (former computer teacher), took over. When they stopped, Miss Ginfrida and Miss Sepa tagged along. If you’re wondering what Toys for Tots is, I will tell you now. Toys for Tots is a fundraiser when students from school get toys that they’ve never opened and give them to Student Council members. You could give footballs, Rubik's cubes, teddy bears, etc. It is very generous of the people who give toys because they are for people who can’t afford to buy toys. I honestly think it is a great way to show christmas spirit! I think it is very important to give than receive presents, because there are other people in the world who need some joy like kids who have diseases, are homeless, etc.
Thank you to the people who brought a toy and spread some joy!

Winter Chorus Concert Have you ever wondered what is chorus? Well, chorus is a group big or small but with more than one person singing on stage. Our up-coming winter chorus concert on December 11th is going to be great! In Mrs. Avner’s room, we are working very hard to get close to perfection. On stage we are singing The Candy Cane Twist, A Christmas Line, Razzamatazz, Shoulda Been A North Pole Elf, and even more songs!!!!
So far were kind of good. Ok, so we do need a little more practice, I mean a lot of practice! Mrs. Avner’s schedule is a little confusing because since the winter chorus is coming up, Mrs. Avner is shifting the schedule around! For example, for the following week, were practicing on stage for 1 hour & 30 minutes to get ready.
Have I not told you that we go on Thursdays to practice! Maybe I haven’t, but we do! Until we have to stand there for 1 hour & 30 minutes. For the winter chorus concert, some people got solo’s and some speaking parts. Not all people get what they wanted because number one, there are not many solo’s or speaking parts, number two, the same people have to be the same person in the show because Mrs. Avner choose the best ones, and number three, well... there is no number three!
You haven’t seen anything yet! It’s amazing! You can’t stand it! But you know what to do, stay awesome! Until next time, bye!
P.S. - To practice we bring our music sheets that is stapled together. But you know, we already practiced and getting ready so we don’t need it. If your in handbells! But that’s a different story. Bye! See you next time! If.

What is Nitro exactly?Well,it is a roller coaster located in Six Flags,Jackson,New Jersey. But you see here, this isn’t really a roller coaster. This is one beast machine! This thing can go as fast as 80 miles an hour.I would be screaming for my life at that speed! But I would gladly feel the wind on my face on a hot summer day.
Enough of me,back to Nitro. That’s not all this ride has though. When you are going for the first drop, you are literally above the clouds. That comes from personal experience. How did the Six Flags workers even get up that high and built this coaster? We will never know.Anyways, this thing is as high as 230 feet!
You have got to admit, that is pretty dang high for a roller coaster! But that’s still not all yet!Pretty impressive qualities of Nitro, don’t you say? This attraction is an astonishing length of 5,394 feet! Now you have to say that you will scream on this roller coaster.
That is just a ridiculous length for a roller coaster especially! If you are looking for an awesome roller coaster this summer, turn to Nitro because it’ll exceed all your expectations and blow your socks off!
Fun facts:
Nitro was built in 2001
Nitro’s first drop is 215 feet long!
Must be at minimum 54 inches to ride
