Scholastic is a education and media company that provides books and educational materials for schools, teachers, parents and children. The website provides lessons, activities, books and games for students and teachers to incorporate into their curriculum. The website is sectioned into grade levels and its easy to navigate.
Teachers can use scholastic for a resource when creating a integrated unit. The website provides books and activities that can be read to the students online, this could be individual work at a center in a Pre-K classroom. This website could also be used for whole group read aloud's. This can be followed by a group discussion, discussing the different parts of the story and sequencing the events.

STRATEGIES:
1. Digital Storytelling
Digital storytelling is the art of bringing together audio, images, and text to share information on a specific topic. This allows students to create a stronger emotional connection to the story. This also enhances comprehension by seeing the pictures that goes along with the audio.
How to use it- Have the students as a class create a digital story with audio and images. Students should be the narrative of the story. This will allow a emotional connection throughout the story.

2. Screencast Video
Screencast Video allows for onscreen instruction. Programs allow you to talk while you show directions on the screen and enhanced the directions and explanation to the lesson.
How to use it- This could be as simple as showing the students how to classify objects into categories by attributes. This would allow for the teacher to talk over her video and show examples of how she wants the students to do the activity. The students could visually watch the lesson on an iPAD in an a small group then work together on the lesson.
