Kia ora koutou katoa!
We are now over halfway through the term, and it's been fantastic to see our tamariki continuing to embrace their learning with such enthusiasm and curiosity. Their positive engagement across all aspects of school life makes our school a vibrant and joyful place.
Teaching and Learning: Mid-Year Reports & Learning Conversations
Mid-year reporting is a key update on your child's learning journey! Your mid-year reports will be emailed directly to you by your child's class teacher on Wednesday, June 25th. These reports will offer a comprehensive look at their progress and achievements so far this year.
The very next day, Thursday, June 26th, we'll be holding our valuable learning conversations. These are three-way meetings involving you, your child, and their teacher, providing a fantastic opportunity to discuss their learning in detail, celebrate successes, and plan for future growth. We really encourage all whānau to be a part of these important conversations. Information about bookings is below.
Community Consult for Year 7-8 at Woodlands Park School
Today, you should have received a separate letter about recapitation. This refers to the process of our current Year 0-6 school potentially transitioning to a Year 0-8 school. This is a big step, and your feedback is incredibly important. Please take the time to complete the accompanying survey – it will help us gauge the level of interest within our community and inform our next steps. Please note this is only a scope but will help us to decide whether an application to the Ministry of Education is appropriate. The survey will close this Monday 9th June, at midday. Click here to complete the survey.
School Disco Tonight!
Get ready to boogie! Our school disco is happening tonight, and it's set to be a fantastic night of fun and music for all our students. We know our tamariki are excited, and we can't wait to see them enjoying themselves. A huge thank you to the PTA for their awesome organisation to make tonight a special event for our students.
Property Updates: Rooms 11-13 Refurbishment
You might remember from our last newsletter that the refurbishment of Rooms 11-13 was getting underway. I'm pleased to report that this project is progressing and is well on track to be completed this term. We're really looking forward to seeing these refreshed and inspiring spaces in full use soon!
Celebrating Samoan Language Week
This past week, we've had the pleasure of celebrating Samoan Language Week here at school. Our students have engaged in a wonderful range of activities and explored a fantastic selection of books in the library, all designed to deepen their understanding and appreciation of Samoan language and culture. It's been a vibrant and enriching experience for everyone involved.
A Huge Thank You to Our PTA!
Finally, a last massive shout-out to our incredible PTA! Your energy and dedication are simply amazing. Thank you so much for all the mahi you've put into organising tonight's disco. Events like these truly enrich our school experience, and we are so grateful for your continued support and hard work.

From the office:
-Please ensure your child has a change of clothes in their bag during the wet months.
-For the safety and well-being of children who walk or ride, it's important that they go straight home once the school day ends, rather than playing unsupervised at school or making detours. We appreciate you reinforcing this message with your child.

RIPPA RUGBY
“Tap and go when you are ready” called the ref. Taking a big breath in, I tap and run, I weave in and out of the Titirangi team, then I make a big break and speed off. One girl chased me hard but I was too fast. I put the ball down, try!!! I scored a try. I could not believe it, and it was the first try of the game. The rest of the game went pretty smoothly. I scored another two tries. My team actually won. I was so happy and excited." - Tallulah
Finally after a one hour and twenty minute wait, my team started our final. We were versing Titirangi Boys B. Everyone from my school was watching us play. I felt nervous. When we started my team scored then I scored! I saw a gap and ran it through. When we finished my team won 8-6 and I had scored three times! All of the other teams ran on when the ref blew his whistle. We had won the B grade for boys! - Harrison
Well done to all the rippa rugby teams who took part in the interschool tournament. Special thanks to the teachers and the parent helpers!
