Term 1 | Week 4 | 2021
Term 1 | Week 4 | 2021
We are back at Alert Level 1 as of today. This means:
The school pool is open again to pool key holders from Tuesday afternoon
Triathlon is back ‘on track’ and will go ahead on Friday evening 6pm.
Whole school assembly will be on Friday at 9:30am hosted by Room 6
Alert Level 1 Guidelines:
At Alert Level 1, early learning centres, schools and tertiary education facilities are open for all age groups. At Alert Level 1, we still need to play it safe. We all need to be ready in case COVID-19 comes back into the community.
To be ready at Alert Level 1:
practise good hygiene
stay home if you’re sick
get tested if you have cold, flu or COVID-19 symptoms
wear face coverings on public transport and domestic flights
keep track of where you’ve been and who you’ve seen.

Certificates will be given out to 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed competitors
Children will be divided into age groups ∙ Parents are responsible for transporting bikes to and from the school and ensuring bikes are fit for racing. Cyclists must wear helmets
Except for participants racing, no one is to be on the field until after all races have finished ∙ -Parents, please ensure your children don’t run across the course during the races
In weeks 7 & 8 this term classes will be heading out to North Piha Surf Club for a beach education day. They will learn about water safety and have a short (and safe!) swim. We will need plenty of parent help in the water!
Notices will be coming home this week.
Thanks to all the girls and boys who came along to netball 'try it outs' last Friday. You all worked hard, played fair, and were really helpful to the adults, student helpers and each other. We had the largest turn out of players I ever remember seeing.
Sign-up forms must be back to the school office by this Friday. Because of the large numbers, we have a big job ahead sorting out teams and making sure we have enough parent helpers and equipment for everyone to play. If your forms are late, there is a chance your child will not be able to play this season.
If you missed the trials, but still want to play, there are spare forms at the office.
If you have any questions, please email me at julie@loveyourbrain.co.nz
We are pleased to have been awarded a grant from the Waitakere Ranges Local Board to continue funding the community commercial compost bins for another year! Thanks also to all those who have donated during the year to keep this project going until now.
The community commercial compost bins are located in the hall carpark, and can take any food scraps (including meat), as well as compostable packaging. The bins are available for use by school families as well as the wider local community.
SchoolDocs updates, modifies, or creates policies in response to changes in legislation or Ministry guidelines, significant events, reviews/requests from schools, and regular reviewing from the SchoolDocs team. Our board of trustees has the opportunity to view changes/additions and comment on them before they are implemented. We will advise you when policies are up for review and how you can take part in the review.
