Kia Ora Koutou katoa,
“The only constant in life is change..”
We have a number of changes coming up for Term 2, we thank you for your support whilst we navigate the many changing circumstances inevitable in people’s lives and we assure you that we strive diligently to always have our children at the centre of everything we do.

We wish David Butterworth all the very best for his 12 months of refreshment leave, and will really miss him. Our thoughts are with him as he takes the time to re energise and look after his health. David will be popping in to visit his class tomorrow (a last minute change), so if you would like to catch him he will be at school from 9am. We welcome experienced teacher Gillian Appleby from Balmoral School who will continue to support and teach in Room 15. Gillian visited Room 15 today and has spent some time getting to know her class.
Our thoughts are with Jess Parks and her husband at this time. Jess’s husband was involved in a serious motorbike accident and requires full time care at this time. Room 16 will welcome Annamarie Wood and Hannah Pragert who will team teach throughout Term 2 until Jess returns.
If you have any questions please speak with your Whanau Leader - Andrew or contact one of our Deputy Principals.

Due to continual roll growth we also welcome Katie Kay who will open our new Y0 (new entrants class) at the beginning of Term 2 in Room 13.
We thank you for your continued support and wish you a safe and happy holiday break.

Finally the wet weather has arrived! Please make sure your child has a change of clothes in their bag. Our field can get quite muddy.
Can you help us replicate a compression vest made of wetsuit material? Contact Tania in the Rainbow Room if you think you can help.
Congratulations to the cross country team - we managed to keep the cup another year!!
What a fantastic event. Thank you so much to all all the crew including our amazing PTA and the All Blocks Lego! We had over 80 entries in the build competition.
Well done to our swimmers. 2nd place in the plate! Amazing photos by Rob @ kasnapped.com
Marrzipan have gained a huge reputation in New Zealand for the development of shy children, especially those with anxiety, autism and selective mutism. Saying that, this is a class for the super crazy and dramatic types too, as we focus on positive leadership and social skills. Our classes focus on inner and outer self-confidence, and are super fun and exciting for children. Parents are kept up to date with weekly emails about what’s been covered in class and why, as well as what you can work on at home. We have two awesome showcases at the end of every term too, so you can see your child’s development first hand as they perform in one of our termly productions.
Our classes will be running on Thursday, before school in the library. Spaces are limited to 10 students, to sign up for a non-obligatory trial lesson - please register your interest by emailing manon@marrzipandrama.co.nz or calling 0272206030. See you there!

We are pleased to have been awarded a grant from the Waitakere Ranges Local Board to continue funding the community commercial compost bins for another year! Thanks also to all those who have donated during the year to keep this project going until now.
The community commercial compost bins are located in the hall carpark, and can take any food scraps (including meat), as well as compostable packaging. The bins are available for use by school families as well as the wider local community.
