15 June
Kia Ora Koutou,
It has been so awesome to be able to welcome everyone back on school grounds since moving to Alert Level 1. What a difference it makes at the end of each day to be able to connect with one another and to build our community networks with each other.
We are definitely past the halfway mark in the term and have only 2 weeks until the holidays are upon us! It has certainly been a very different experience operating at the various alert levels this term, with staggered pick up and drop offs now becoming a distant memory. We have noticed a wave of tiredness with our children over the last couple of weeks, but considering all that has happened this year, it is to be expected and we are moving through each day with a wonderful curriculum and space for children to continue to grow.
We have had indication that ERO (The Education Review Office) would like to interview the senior leadership team and Board Chair to collect information about how we responded during Covid-19. This information will contribute to a national study to evaluate the range of responses, strategies and initiatives that contribute to learner success during a period of global and national crisis, response and recovery. This will take place at the end of the month.
We are halfway through our annual audit which is taking longer than usual as the audit is being conducted remotely. We hope to have our report uploaded as soon as possible.
Our netball teams are back and training with the girl’s first game at Te Pai over the weekend, we wish them luck as they get back into their Saturday games.
This week we celebrated Support Staff in appreciation of their continual amazing work in our school. Our teacher aides, librarian, office staff, and caretaker are integral to the success and smooth running of our school. We are extremely grateful to them all.
Unfortunately, we continue to keep the gates locked over the weekends as work on the property continues, we hope to be open by the time the holidays roll around.
Finally, thank you so much for your ongoing support, the smiles and brief catch ups in passing.
Take care,
Nga mihi nui ki a koutou,
Nardz Stephenson
