We made a experiment to understand the purpose of cerebospinal fluid and how it protects the brain.
We listened to a story called "Our diversity makes us stronger" and reflected about what diversity means. We made posters to represent its meaning.

We have been learning on how to put words into alphabetical order and the use a dictionary to find the correct spelling and meaning of words.
We have been listening to a story called "My strong mind: A story about developing mental strength". This book aspires to educate about mental toughness and open a positive dialogue on the subject. Mental Toughness is a combination of resilience, the curiosity and drive to grow yourself and confidence in your own abilities and interactions with people. We got to retell the story and make a story map of it.
Our first IPC unit of this year is "Brainwave: The Brain". We will be learning about our brain and how we can use it to learn, enabling us to gain the knowledge, skills and understanding that we will need to become successful now and in the future.
For our Entry Point we had the oportunity to visit Ms. Meche´s lab and taught us the main parts of the brain, we could touch a real cow/pig´s brain. Also, we could observe the brain through a microscope. Then, we became learning detectives, we started by brainstorming about how to make a positive environment at school as we understood that emotions have an important impact during learning periods.

We made a little version of ourselves and started writing about things we like or we don´t like, our families and other things we would like to share with our teachers. We wrote about our summer and the exciting things that we enjoyed during the break.
