WEEK 6
Numeracy
This week, we practiced comparing numbers using greater than, less than, and equal to. At first, it seemed a little tricky, but we worked hard and did our best. The most fun part was learning with the hungry crocodile who always eats the bigger number!
IPC
This week, we started working on our family trees to learn more about how our families are made up. It’s a fun activity and also a big project, but we’re very excited to begin!
Literacy
This week, we continued working on our story 'Whoever You Are' and created a story map. This activity was very fun because we drew the story to help us start remembering it.
WEEK 5
Numeracy
This week, we worked in teams to make a caterpillar number line by tens. It was great to collaborate, and we learned a lot.
IPC
This week, we started our new unit called 'Who am I?'. For our entry point, we did a very fun activity where we had to identify ourselves and our classmates in blurred photos.
Literacy
This week, we started reading the story Whoever You Are. We learned new vocabulary and practiced using the words to make sentences. We also noticed that, even though we are all people, we are different, our skin tones are not the same, and we compared them together.
Special Activity
This week, in our Spanish class, we played 'Lotería' in pairs, and it was a very fun activity.
WEEK 4
IPC
This week, we learned about how to take good care of our brain. In teams, we created a poster to represent what we learned.
Literacy
This week, we made a Gingerbread Man cookie to finish our unit with this book. It was wonderful to bake a cookie and then be able to eat it!
Numeracy
This week, we used our blue folders to practice number lines. We enjoy using our blue folders and markers because we find them very helpful for our learning.
Show and Tell
This week, we had Mariana’s show and tell. She showed us her favorite toy, which is named Kitty.
WEEK 3
Literacy
This week, we continued working with The Gingerbread Man, and we came up with some actions to help us tell the story on our own. Additionally, it was Roald Dahl Week, so we read James and the Giant Peach and made some bookmarks.
IPC
This week, we learned about the main parts of the brain and what each part does. Additionally, we did an activity to reinforce what we had learned.
Numeracy
This week, we practiced tens and ones in our blue folder to help us understand it better and complete the worksheet. It was a lot of fun learning that way!
Special Activity
This week, we celebrated Independence Day at school. We enjoyed dancing and had a great time!
Show and Tell
This week, we had Lus Show and Tell. She showed us her favorite toy.
WEEK 2
IPC
This week, we created some magic glasses to help students understand the difference between Knowledge, Skills, and Understanding, which are key components of our IPC learning goals. We also introduced our first unit, titled Brainwave, and made brain models using dough to explore how our brain looks like.
Numeracy
This week, we started counting numbers to 20 and we are learning to write them. In addition, we made a human count line for us to practice the order of the numbers. Please help us at home!
Literacy
This week, we began reading the story The Gingerbread Man. We are learning new vocabulary and practicing how to use these words to build sentences. In addition, we have been working on our handwriting using the new words.
Special Activity
This week, we had an activity where a magical hat told us which house we would be in, and afterwards, we had a picnic. It was a lot of fun!
Show and Tell
This week, we had Ayla´s show and tell. She showed us her puppy named Ferrucho.
