Willington Prep - Celebrating 140 years - 1885-2025
As another bustling half term draws to a close, our Year 2 pupils have once again completed a successful week of learning and discovery.
In Maths, we focused on problem-solving with measures including temperature, width, mass, and capacity. Our English work immersed the pupils into the charming world of "Dear Greenpeace," resulting in engaging letters about imaginary gorillas in their gardens! In History. we learned about the advances in medicine in Victorian times and compared the conditions in Victorian times to our modern hospitals. In Science, the pupils enjoyed researching world habitats and began work on their own information posters. Meanwhile, in Creative, the pupils produced some beautiful oil pastel Rainforest creatures inspired by their exploration of rainforest habitats.
The highlight of the week was our Outdoor Learning Day, with an exploration of Wimbledon Common's microhabitats.
We are very proud of the hard work and growth exhibited by our Year 2 pupils over the last six weeks. We hope that they, along with you, enjoy a restful and much-deserved half term break.
We hope you have a lovely weekend!
