Willington Prep - Celebrating 140 years - 1885-2025
In English this week, we read chapter 5 of the Iron Man and started to plan a newspaper report. In Drama, we did a full dress rehearsal of our Pantastic (Peter Pan musical) play ready for the big show on Monday. We all know our lines and our song lyrics and we’re so excited to perform it to everyone! In Maths, we did a review to see how much we could remember from everything we have learnt this term and recapped some tricky topics such as short/long division and multiplication. In Science, we learnt about what things dissolve and how a solute and solvent mix together to form a solution. We enjoyed testing our theory by doing an experiment.
In history we learnt about how the Aztecs created chocolate very differently compared to how we use it today in Europe. The Aztecs added chillies and pepper to make it spicy! We learnt about the journey of a river in geography and that the start of the river is the source and the end is the mouth. We had an amazing time at Morden Hall Park, testing to see which part of a meander is quickest using dog biscuits and pond dipping in different parts of the river to see what conditions affect the types of invertebrates living in it. In RS we learnt about Jesus’ last supper and that Judas will betray him.
We had so much fun designing our maze in art. In computing, we were learning more about animation and newspaper reports which was helpful as it links with what we have been learning in English. We learnt the phrase ‘I like’ in Spanish and practised saying which fruits we like to eat.
