How is it nearly half term already?! We cannot believe that we have almost completed 1/6th of our Year 6!
In Drama this week, we started work on our radio play project that will run over into the next half term. Our scripts were introduced and we did a year group read-through. We then got into pairs and groups of three to choose the script we wanted to work on and began to assign roles! In French, Madam Veloso introduced us to the written project we are starting, covering topics such as introducing ourselves by stating our name, age, and birthday. We has also been practising how to talk about where we live, describe the type of house we live in, and give details about our family, pets, home, and bedroom, including using prepositions to explain the position of objects.
Over in STEM, we have been investigating what affects the brightness of a lamp, volume of a buzzer and speed of a motor in a series circuit. In Maths, Mr Wildman has continued to help us prepare for the 11+, and we completed another paper, and then spent time going through it to build up feedback to help us continue to improve. Next week we are going to have individually chosen revision tasks to do. In Humanities, we are creating a knowledge-organiser to showcase our knowledge on Ancient Sumeria. This will help us to quickly identify similarities and differences between ancient civilisations when we come to study the Shang Dynasty after half term. In Geography, we have been categorising the different types of rain we experience and describing how each occurs.
Finally, in English, for the Accelerate Programme we continued a story from an extract and enjoyed using our imaginations to come to exciting endings. We have also really been enjoying our class text, Holes, and have gathered facts about some of the well know Wild West Outlaws.
Have a great weekend!
