Nursery
As we enter our penultimate week the children are still buzzing with all things Autumn especially conkers, munchkin pumpkins and beautiful coloured leaves all around us.
Lots of fantastic individual pictures of conkers were drawn using real life conkers as a guide (early introduction to still life). Do pop into the nursery to have a look at all the children’s lovely artwork. We continued experimenting with natural autumnal resources like mini pumpkins which provided great fun for a water play activity as the children used soap and water to clean the pumpkins and submerge them in bubbles getting them ready for painting and decorating with autumnal water colour’s paint and gemstones to take home and add to their autumn collection 2024! The children produced some exceptional work of art. Well done Nursery.
Staying with the theme of real life objects, the children used fine paint brushes, pallet paints and pasta to delicately paint each piece of penne pasta which will be threaded on to string to make necklaces which will reinforce and strengthen the children’s fine motor skills.
The children were also introduced to a new variation of name writing practice ‘Dotted names” using cotton buds and paint to dot around the outline of their names, listening to new instructions, concentrating while carefully dotting around the letters in their names.
Have a great weekend,
