This week in Year 4, we wrote formal letters in English to the headmaster, inspired by our current read, "Danny, the Champion of the World." We discussed and articulated our thoughts on why corporal punishment is unfavourable, demonstrating impressive teamwork and persuasive writing skills.
In Maths, we delved into multiplication and division, mastering the partitioning method with enthusiasm. Our Science investigations led us to explore the warm companionship of huddling penguins and the insulating brilliance of vacuums in keeping water hot.
In Geography, we journeyed through Europe, marvelling at its majestic mountains and rivers, enhancing our understanding of the continent's physical geography. History lessons took us back to the Roman hierarchy, where we creatively applied for roles in Roman times through job application letters, showcasing our historical knowledge and imaginative thinking.
Art classes were a splash of creativity with watercolour paintings of trains, outlined in bold fineliner pens, while in French, we expanded our vocabulary with new food items and practised shopping dialogues, culminating in the delightful learning of ‘Je voudrais un gâteau’.
Computing lessons saw us practising coding skills to command movements on screen, and in Music, we fine-tuned our rhythm notation and explored creating melodic ostinatos. Our week was a harmonious blend of academic learning and creative expression, reflecting the vibrant spirit of Year 4.
Most of all we have loved having new equipment in the playground, check out our action snaps below!
Have a wonderful weekend!
