This week in Reception has been full of exciting learning and activities! We learned three new sounds: ‘o,’ ‘c,’ and ‘k,’ and got creative with octopus and caterpillar art. One of the highlights was making our own flying kites, beautifully decorated by the children. We also practised blending all of the sounds we've learned so far to read even more words.
In Maths, we explored numbers 7, 8, and 9. The children loved making a rainbow using seven colours and creating a wriggly spider with eight legs.
We went on a wonderful Autumn walk, collecting lots of autumnal nature, and enjoyed seeing our minibeasts settle into their new habitats.
We also had some fantastic visitors this week! Erin’s mum came in to talk about her home country, Malaysia, and Nico's parents shared some interesting facts about Brazil.
It’s been a busy and inspiring week in Reception!
Have a great weekend.
