This week in Year 2 was truly memorable, especially our trip to Hampton Court Palace on Wednesday. It was a fantastic way to immerse ourselves in our History lessons about the Tudors. The children enjoyed exploring Henry VIII's apartments, the Tudor kitchens, and the Chapel Royal, experiencing the very places where Henry once lived and ruled. Our day included an engaging 'Tudor Times' workshop, where we sorted Tudor artefacts, learned to bow and curtsey in the traditional style, and even tried our hand at a Tudor dance!
Back in the classroom, we continued our learning journey. In English, we began a new unit on 'Explanation Texts,' working in groups to identify key features in a crocodile-themed excerpt. This helped us role-play as tourist guides and tourists, effectively sharing our newfound knowledge. We also created flow diagrams to illustrate how crocodiles hunt their prey. In Maths, we focused on addition and subtraction, honing our skills in adding multiples of 10 and solving missing number sentences. We all thoroughly enjoyed the sports assembly on Thursday, and learned so much from our guest speaker about patience and perseverance from her too!
Have a wonderful weekend.
