Willington Prep - Celebrating 140 years - 1885-2025
This week in Reception has been packed with excitement and adventure!
We started by celebrating Burns Night with a taste of traditional Scottish haggis. Some of us were brave and loved it, while others weren’t so sure—but we all had fun giving it a try!
Our journey through space continued as we explored the gas giants, Jupiter and Saturn. We learned some fascinating facts about these massive planets and created stunning artwork inspired by their swirling storms and icy rings. The highlight of our space adventure was a thrilling visit to the Planetarium, where we flew through Saturn’s rings with Ted the space bear. What an incredible experience!
Midweek, we welcomed the celebrations of Chinese New Year! We learned how to write numbers in Chinese, which was both tricky and exciting. We also got creative, making our own colourful Chinese dragons, which danced beautifully around the classroom.
To end the week on a high, we laced up our running shoes and took part in our cross-country race. Everyone showed fantastic effort and determination, making it a brilliant way to wrap up an action-packed week.
Well done, Reception! 🚀🏃♂️🐉🎨
