Willington Prep - Celebrating 140 years - 1885-2025
This week in Year 4, we have kept our minds engaged and our creativity flowing!
In English, we continued our poetic journey. Maths saw us tackling multiplication, mastering the column method for both 1 and 2-digit numbers. Our new Science topic on states of matter had us examining the properties of solids, liquids, and gases.
In Geography, we've been learning how to use 6-figure grid references to accurately pinpoint locations, while our History lessons took us back in time to delve into the hierarchy of the Aztecs. Our PSHCE classes have been all about understanding feelings and emotions. In RE, we continue our new topic about Hinduism, discovering the rich tapestry of gods, focusing on the three main deities: Brahma, Shiva, and Vishnu. In Music we have been practising our "pantastic" songs for our upcoming play.
Our PE lessons introduced handball, a fast-paced game where passing into the box and scoring a hoop earns teams 5 points. Creativity blossomed in Art as we crafted works inspired by nature. In French, we delved into vocabulary about clothing. Lastly, in Computing, we're developing essential research skills using Google and learning how to retrieve information.
