Willington Prep - Celebrating 140 years - 1885-2025
Year 3 became estate agents this week, facing the unenviable task of selling the Twits' windowless, upside-down house. It took all our persuasive writing skills to make a convincing case. Next we are looking at the features of written instructions and are gearing up to write our own, advising on how to perform Mr Twit's most dramatic trick. In Maths we are making headway with short division and have moved onto money. Everyone is progressing in the multiplication race, achieving more pleasing results each week. This learning is so useful for our daily maths lessons. Our weather work is taking us around the world from the frozen Arctic to tropical Grenada. We recorded the results of our magnet experiment with paperclips from last week in an informative graph and conducted some new experiments to consolidate our magnet knowledge. In PSHE we learnt how to be a good citizen and we found out about the Jewish celebration of Sukkot, a remembrance of the time spent in the desert. In Classics we are finding nice adjectives to describe our friends, practising ensuring that the adjective agrees with the noun.
Stay dry this wintry weekend!
