Willington Prep - Celebrating 140 years - 1885-2025
Such a busy and exciting week in Year 1! We all had a fabulous time at Bocketts Farm on Thursday, going on a tractor ride, meeting and feeding the animals, watching the pig race, and exploring the playgrounds and soft play! The children really impressed both the farmers and their teachers with their sensible, engaged and respectful participation.
If that wasn't enough excitement, the week ended with Engineering Day, and everyone had lots of fun in their houses, unleashing their inner engineer and celebrating the achievements of different civilisations. In the words of Alex, "I've had the best day ever!"
In English, we continued to focus on 'Dougal's Deep-Sea Diary' and practised joining sentences with a conjunction and choosing exciting adjectives for a description, before creating our own diary entries in the style of Dougal. Our Maths topic was time, including sequencing the days of the week, months of the year and seasons, as well as telling the time to o'clock and half past.
Phew! Enjoy the weekend, and a well-earned rest!
