Willington Prep - Celebrating 140 years - 1885-2025
This week has been another one filled with creativity, and we have all been enjoying seeing our projects developing this term. In particular, Year 4 have been discussing the place of "collaboration" within art, while working on the set design for their upcoming "Pantastic" show. It has been amazing, watching the children work as a team, discussing who should take the lead on different aspects of the work.
We have been learning a variety of new techniques this week, with Year 6 learning how to monoprint with oil pastels, Year 3 learning how to use "slip" to stick clay together, and Year 2 developing their knowledge of printmaking to use rollers and ink successfully.
Year 1 have been using creativity to design monsters, using watercolours, while Reception have learnt to draw a selection of fruits, which they are all very proud of.

Final call for Year 4 children to bring in a shoe box lid to create their Marble Maze, which we will start next week.
Year 6 have created oil pastel monoprints, inspired by Geometric Patterns. They will work into these backgrounds next week. Rayan, Michael, Bode.
Year 5 have begun learning about embroidery, and it has been a pleasure to teach the boys how to thread a needle, tie a knot and begin stitching a beetle.
Year 3 have learnt to sculpt clay, to create a dragon's eye, which they will paint next week. Maxime, Neil, Kaito, Keeran, Henry, Bobby.
Year 2 have been printmaking in different colours. Hari, Ethan, Nicholas.
Year 1 have been painting their monsters using watercolours. Mason, Leo, Ben.
Reception have been drawing fruit, adding colour using felt tip pens. Amaury, Nico, Eliza.
