POW Quiz

Another great fun POW quiz with another very marginal defeat for our beloved teachers. Even with a ringer as the quiz master! 

It’s surely getting to the point that they will do anything to get their crown back next year. A pre school ‘quiz accelerate programme’ is being mooted which concentrates on sub topics such as ‘is the joker card really worth it’ and ‘is learning FA cup winning teams back to 1871 actually relevant for victory’. 

It separately remains unclear, with two teams in the top three, whether the Yr 6 parents are just cleverer overall or perhaps just fundamentally wiser due to being really old.

Our thanks to everyone who graced the hall with bags full of discount booze and of course most of all to Miss Fraser who did a brilliant job of corralling the baying crowd whilst delivering with ease a fine selection of brain teasers.

The event was a great success and POW managed to raise substantial funds for the school and our wider community initiatives.

We’re gearing up for the 140th Anniversary School Ball on the 28th June (please diarise) and we need your help please to make it an unforgettable night! If you would like to help make this event happen, and we really do need some help, there are a variety of ways you can get involved.

Option 1: Join the Ball Committee!

Our first Zoom meeting is on March 26 at 8 PM, and we’d love to have you join. Whether you have events experience, know your way around graphics & design or just love planning a good party, you are exactly who we need to make this happen!

Option 2: Perhaps help in other ways?

Can’t commit time right now? No worries and as working parents ourselves we totally get it. But maybe you can help in one of these ways? 

Silent Auction Donations – Think BIG, EXTRAVAGANT, and EXCITING! What could you or someone you know donate? Experiences, prizes, weekend getaways… let’s make it amazing!

Event Sponsorship – Do you know a business that could help cover event costs? This could be branding at the event, a ‘plug’ as part of the speeches and of course our eternal gratitude! Get in touch at pow@willingtonschool.co.uk

Decorations – Got creative flair? Florists, decorators, artists, or just anyone crafty. If you can donate, make, lend, or create something fab for the ball, we’d love it!
