Examinations

For many pupils, having the goal of an examination to work towards and the sense of achievement when passing their 'grades' is highly motivating! Our peripatetic team regularly present candidates for ABRSM, Trinity and Rock School examination boards, however, taking a music examination is not compulsory.

Willington is a centre for ABRSM examinations and each term our students are able to take their vocal or instrumental examination at school or, in the event of a low number of candidates, at an alternative nearby examination centre.  Students do not have to learn an instrument/voice at school to be eligible to take their examination at Willington.

Music Theory examinations are currently offered through public centres and the school can make an entry on students' behalf if required.
