Chamber Choir

Willington's Chamber Choir is the school's leading vocal ensemble and as such, the only Choir for which entry is by audition.  It consists of c. 18 members from Years 4 - 6. Auditions take place at the start of the Autumn Term and therefore the Choir's first rehearsal takes place in Week 3 of the term, to enable all children to have an opportunity to apply for a place. Children are welcome to audition in subsequent years, if not successful in their first audition.  All current members are also expected to re-audition annually. 

Rehearsals take place once a week before school and the children explore a range of challenging repertoire from across a number of genres and time periods.  Regular attendance and focussed participation is required to maintain membership.

The Choir is lead by the Director of Music and members are encouraged to consider taking private vocal lessons to assist in developing their skill and supporting their love of singing!

Chamber Choir perform regularly at school and community events.
