My name is Renee Smith, and I teach 3rd grade literacy at West Side Elementary School in Greers Ferry, Arkansas. I have taught almost all grade levels, but I have spent a large portion of my teaching career in 3rd grade. With 19 years in the classroom, I know firsthand that the best teachers are those who continue to learn with their students.

I attended the University of Central Arkansas to obtain my teaching degree and later furthered my education with a masters degree from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. Becoming a teacher was an easy career decision for me. I have always enjoyed working with children and seeing them learn new things. I am passionate about literacy, and I will always be an advocate of teaching our youth to read.

I am married and have three beautiful daughters who keep me constantly on the go. I love to spend my free time with my family and nothing brings me more joy than seeing my own children grow and learn new things.
