Math

  • Chapter 13 math tests went home in Friday Folders. Please take a look at your child's pretest and post test. Many students made great growth!
  • If your child is interested in retaking the assessment, please click here. Study guides were attached to any student's assessment that scored below proficient (80%). Feel free to use this resource as you see fit!
  • Students brought home their Volume 1 math workbooks on Friday. Volume 1 holds the first half of the year's topics (place value, rounding, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, etc.). Feel free to use this resource as you see fit as well!
  • Coming up, we will be learning about fractions! If you want your child to work on fractions at home, Khan Academy and FrontRow - Fractions are both great sites to use.

ELA/Social Studies

  • This week, students finalized their American Hero writing and we are working towards getting everyone to record their writing.
  • For social studies, we discussed economy. We learned about international trade, and how countries import and export goods. We also played "The Bean Game" where students needed to decide how to spend their "money" on must have items and where they would spend their extra "money". It created great conversation around "wants", "needs", and responsibilities adults have.

Buddies

This past week we enjoyed some time with our little buddies on the 100th day of school. I'm always so impressed with how 3rd graders really rise to the occasion to be a good role model for their little buddies. See Class Dojo for the pictures!

60 Blue Dots = Donut party!

Our class earned 60 blue dots and earned ourselves a donut party! How does one earn a blue dot? Ask your child! Every student has played a role in getting us to this goal!

Odds and Ends
