Math

Chapter 4-5 post test went home in your child's blue folder on Friday. If your child is interested in retaking, click here. Click here for some activities and websites you can utilize to practice for the retake.

As we approach the next unit in math (chapters 6-9), students will be building on many of the same concepts that were in chapters 4-5, with the added layer of using properties to write expressions. Here are some examples:

    • Write an expression for seven more than two
    • Solve the expression if w = 2. (w x 3) - 4

The homework pages were sent home in Friday Folders as well. We will end this unit for math right before we go off to winter break!

We have also been working on Flipgrids to show what we've been learning with multiplication and division. Click here to check our your child's video! The password is d111.

ELA

This week we wrote our connections to what we learned when Explorit Science came out. There were lots of things learned and many connections made. There were so many excellent connections made to what students already knew. Here's an example below:

Science

We're continuing our learning on animal adaptations. We have created expert groups so that classmates will become experts in a specific biome and go back to their group and teach them. We have learned about the desert biome and the aquatic (ocean) biome in the past week. Students will be taking an animal adaptations and biomes assessment on Friday.
