More March Fun

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

We had a great time making traps the Friday before St. Patrick's Day.  Thank you for sending in supplies and for all your support for this activity. We did not catch the leprechaun, but he did leave lollipops letting us know he was there.  :). See the pictures below of the traps they created.

Phone Numbers

We will be practicing/learning phone numbers during the third trimester.  I will be sending out an email soon asking you to let me know what phone number I should use for these lessons. Please respond as soon as possible so we can begin the lessons.  I will only focus on one phone number per child.  Please decide as a family which number you would like your child to practice.  Thank you.

Thank you AGAIN to the PTO for providing the us with another enrichment program.  On Thursday 3/22 The Secret Science program came to our school. The kids loved it!  Here is a link to the their site for more information.

It was great seeing everybody at conferences last week.  Please be sure to go the  PowerSchool link for for progress reports.  They became available on Friday, 3/23/24

Enjoy the pictures of some of the learning fun.

We are excited to announce the Star Reader program will begin on Monday, March 25th! This annual event is a great way to encourage and reward reading. Students will be asked to track time spent reading to themselves or time spent listening to reading for a chance to win a free book from the PTO! The program will run for 2 weeks: Monday, March 25th - Friday, April 5th. Here’s how it works:

Additional recording sheets can be printed here. Want an online option? Submit reading time using our online form.

Marching Through March

~UFLI~

We are working out ay through the alphabet with our reading program.  We have had lessons on all the consonants and vowels and will be reviewing the vowels and working on reading even more words as the year continues.  You should be seeing decodable passages coming home each week with your child.  Please read the passage together with your child - some may be able to read some of the passage to you.  Children should also be able to point out some of our power words in the passages.  The other extension you can provide at home for learning is to have your child complete the roll and read activity if it comes home incomplete.  Students roll a number, read the word and color the box in.    Please see the image below- You will need dice to complete this.  Please let me know if you do not have dice and I can send one home.

Book Fair Information

The Robinson School Book Fair, benefitting the school library, will be held March 11 through March 19. All classes will have an opportunity to visit the fair, and parents are invited to visit during Parent Teacher Conferences 3/18 and 3/19. We need volunteers to help the Book Fair run smoothly! Find sign-up information here (all volunteers need a valid CORI.)  If you'd like information about using the cashless eWallet to pay for books, you can learn more about that option here. Please email Librarian Sheila Magovern with any questions. smagovern@westfordk12.us. A flyer about the bookfair went home with your child on Friday.  Attached to the flyer is a plastic ziplock bag.  Please return the ziplock bag with it's enclosed paper if you wish for your child to purchase anything at the bookfair.  Thank you.
