Wayne Township Public Schools wishes everyone a very happy holiday season and a wonderful new year.
The holiday recess will begin after a minimal day on Friday, December 22nd. No school from Monday, December 25th - Monday, January 1st. Schools will reopen on Tuesday, January 2nd.
More than 100 Anthony Wayne Middle School students participated in this year's TREP$ workshop by creating and designing crafts, food, and other goods that were sold. "Trep$" is a short word for young entrepreneurs. Congratulations to all AW Stallions who participated! Everyone was excited to have Wayne Mayor, Mr. Vergano, there again this year to take part in the ribbon cutting.
From November 27th through December 14th the students in Mrs. Barrows and Mrs. Caporusso’s Kindergarten Classes at Randall Carter Elementary School have been working along with the United Way of Passaic County to provide those in need with some warm winter outerwear. Through the use of very creative bulletin boards, the students asked for donations of gloves, mittens, hats, scarves, and socks to help warm their Snowmen and Penguins. These items were then going to be turned over to the United Way of Passaic County so they could distribute them to those in need this winter. Over the course of a month the Kindergarten students and staff collected a total of 297 hats, gloves/mitten, socks, scarves, and even some jackets. On December 18th, Mrs. Caroline Schneider, Office Manager for the United Way of Passaic county arrived at Randall Carter Elementary School to collect the items and send them off for distribution to adults and children in need. The students had a great deal of fun working on this project and warmed their own hearts knowing that they were able to help others in such a big way.
The holiday theme for the central office this year was “Giving”. In following along with our theme, the central office employees of the Wayne Township Public Schools enthusiastically donated nearly 50 toys to the United States Marine Corps Toys for Tots Program and also donated winter hats, gloves and other warm winter accessories to the Hearts ‘N Hands Mission. The central office employees are proud to establish this new tradition to support those in need during the holiday season.
The following Students placed in the Future Business Leaders of America Regional Competition, which was held in December. These students will now represent Wayne and move on to the State Competition in March.
