On Thursday, April 28, Pines Lake School was recognized by the NJSHA (New Jersey Speech/Language and Hearing Association) as their
Program of the Year. As a community, Pines Lake School is committed to supporting students with AAC (Augmented and Alternative Communication) devices and creating a safe and supportive learning environment for students with communication impairments. Activities, such as communication boards on playgrounds, presentations to 4th and 5th-grade students, and active roles for students with AAC devices in performances, highlight the school's inclusive efforts. This is a building-wide initiative, spearheaded by the district's Speech and Language Pathologists.
