The Montclair State University Network for Educational Renewal (MSUNER) is a school-university partnership dedicated to the simultaneous renewal of schools and teacher education through collaboration among Montclair State University and its partner school districts. In partner districts, teachers and administrators gain the opportunity to work with Montclair State University faculty at school sites and at the University.
The MSUNER sponsors professional development activities for more than 11,000 teachers and administrators in its member districts. Over the past 20 years, the MSUNER has developed an extensive research-based professional development program offering members an array of opportunities for professional and intellectual growth. Teachers in member districts can submit an application to become Clinical Faculty members for the University, serving as cooperating teachers, on-site mentors, co-facilitators of workshops and seminars, and adjunct faculty on campus. Teachers are also able to apply to many generous teacher incentive grants throughout the year.
After a rigorous application process that included 2 presentations to MSUNER's stakeholders, Wayne Township Public School was unanimously voted in as a partner school district. We are looking forward to this partnership with Montclair State University.
The Elementary Media Specialists recently hosted their 2nd Annual Maker Space Event at Anthony Wayne Middle School. Fifteen students from each of the nine elementary schools, selected through a lottery system, were invited to join in an event to celebrate the S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) movement in school Library Media Centers. Children explore, create, build, and tinker with hands-on activities in their Media centers and were brought together at this special occasion to explore and collaborate in creative endeavors.

The competition was created and sponsored by the New Jersey School Board Association and the U.S. Army. The students were selected as one of 15 teams to participate in the Regional Competition held at NJIT in Newark on April 14, 2018. The students presented their invention in front of a panel of judges including entrepreneurs, business leaders, and education leaders.
