Timothy is one of 18 honors recipients for the 4th - 6th grade category. He will be recognized during a ceremony at Rutgers University on May 8, 2018 along with the other recipients. Way to go, Timothy!
Fifth graders from Packanack Elementary School celebrated Earth Day by planting a Ginkgo tree. This tree will replace the old tree that was destroyed this winter which served many purposes. It provided shade for so many students during their science lessons, quiet reading time, and on field days. The soil from the old tree was preserved for Packanack students to use in recyclable pots to plant flowers and distribute to family and friends. As a finale to their Earth Science Unit, Dr. Hogi assisted all fifth grade students in the planting of their new school tree.
Congratulations to all of our Wayne Hills future chefs for another strong performance in the annual Wayne Hills Student Culinary Competition. A special thanks to Sodexo Food Services for their sponsorship of the event. The students were thrilled and appreciated the opportunity to express their creativity through their marketing and culinary ideas. In addition to showcasing our students, the competition “served” another great purpose. The Wayne Hills Student Culinary Competition raised $2,747.00 for the Wayne Hills Consumer Science scholarship. We had over 375 people attending to see and taste the student creations, then vote for their favorite.
