Komal Nururkar, Co-Valedictorian of the Class of 2016 and current Carnegie Mellon University student ambassador, spoke to approximately 20 students about the college application process, academic programs, and life at Carnegie Mellon. Komal delivered a message that was informative and relatable to the students.
Fifth graders at Packanack Elementary School will once again be creating a school newspaper. In print now for a third consecutive year, students will be reporting on various events occurring within the building and interviewing fellow students and teachers. The school newspaper offers an opportunity to learn a variety of skills including photography, design and page layout, computer graphics, research, writing, revising and publishing. In addition to the fun of creating a school newspaper, students will gain a number of important skills they will need in the future.
Randall Carter Elementary School students in grades 2-5 are currently participating in a Read Across America challenge! The goal is to have Randall Carter Elementary School literally Read Across America, which means having students read books that are set in each state of the U.S. Alternatively, students can read books created by authors or illustrators from different states.
As Anthony Wayne Middle School continues to encourage students to "CHOOSE KIND" as part of their 180 Days of AWesome, many are taking part in this year's Great Kindness Challenge during the week of January 22nd.
