George Washington Middle School’s community service club, "Ready Set, Serve,” led by teacher, Trish Montini, organized a toy drive in collaboration with the Paterson Fire Department and Toys for Tots organization. George Washington Middle School donated over 200 holiday presents to needy children this year. Students eagerly loaded the truck, knowing that their thoughtful donations would bring joy to others less fortunate.
The Ryerson Elementary School community is proud to introduce their newest club, “Suit Up Ryerson". It was created by 4th grade teacher, Mr. John Edwards. The principle behind the club is simple, “Look Good, Feel Good, Do Good.” On the first and third Thursdays of each month, 4th grade boys will “Suit Up” by wearing a shirt and tie to school. Students attend regular meetings to discuss weekly events, participate in team building activities which will build confidence and provide academic support to peers and volunteer at school functions. Members from “Suit Up Ryerson” have already been ushers at Ryerson's Winter Concert and 3rd Grade Show. They are very excited about their new club and look forward to Ryerson students looking, feeling, and doing their best.
Anthony Wayne Middle School kicked off their annual fundraiser for the American Heart Association on Tuesday, January 2nd. The Great RePlay will take place in PE classes in February and will include "backyard" games that will keep their students active and moving!
James Fallon Elementary recently completed their 10th annual toy drive for St. Joseph's hospital in Paterson. The toy drive was set up by the Student Council and over 100 toys were donated by James Fallon families to sick children at the hospital. Many of the students met principal, Mr. Maayan at the hospital to deliver the toys and have some hot chocolate.
