The Wayne Board of Education reorganized on Thursday, January 2nd, and selected Cathy Kazan as President and Suzanne Pudup as Vice President. The Board also welcomed new trustee Dawn Kumar, who was sworn in and seated.

Wayne Hills Band Students Perform in Honors Ensemble
Wayne Hills Band Students Perform in Honors Ensemble
The Wayne Hills Band is proud to recognize these students for their successful audition and participation in: The Caldwell University Honors Band, The North Jersey Area Band, and the New Jersey Region I Band. These students compete with hundreds of other high school students for seats in these ensembles. They then rehearse and perform under prominent guest conductors and clinicians. Congratulations to all!

The impact during this year’s George Washington Middle School's Holiday Toy Drive was enormous! Charity to those less fortunate is a hallmark of the George Washington Middle School Community. The overwhelming generosity from GWMS's students and families enabled us to collect and donate 519 toys to the Paterson Fire Department.
The impact during this year’s George Washington Middle School's Holiday Toy Drive was enormous! Charity to those less fortunate is a hallmark of the George Washington Middle School Community. The overwhelming generosity from GWMS's students and families enabled us to collect and donate 519 toys to the Paterson Fire Department.
As a result of the heartwarming response to the toy drive, recipients of the Paterson Fire Department’s Holiday Toy Drive had a brighter holiday season. Thanks to the efforts of the GWMS Student Ambassadors Club and the outpouring of support from staff and students, GW’s Holiday Toy Drive embodied the true spirit of the holidays. The gift of a shiny new toy, something most children take for granted, will say to a needy child that someone cared. We are grateful to the GW staff, and the students and their families, for sending a message of hope this season through the gift of a new toy.

JFK Student Ambassadors Collaborate with Local Meals on Wheels
JFK Student Ambassadors Collaborate with Local Meals on Wheels
In an effort to promote citizenship, 5th grade Student Ambassadors from JFK created placemats for senior citizens in Passaic County who benefit from deliveries by Meals on Wheels. They also had the opportunity to meet with representatives from our county's Meals on Wheels organization and learn about the process of delivering food to homebound senior citizens. The students even got a chance to check out the Meals on Wheels van.
