Well done to Woodpeckers Class who took part in the Inspiring Music singing concert at The Grove Theatre on Monday 30th June. It was the culmination of their terms singing tuition and they joined other schools to form a mass choir, singing their songs for an audience of family members. They did a great job, especially after a long day rehearsing and I hope that everyone who came along enjoyed it as much as we did.
Thank you for all of the support given to our Book Fair this year. With all of the books sold, the school has been given over £250 to spend on books that we will use to update the range available in our library.
On Monday last week, Hedgehog Class headed to the Priory Church to learn all about Christian churches and celebrations including baptism. We want to say a big thank you to the team at the Priory for making us so welcome.
Last week, Foxes Class enjoyed a wonderful, if very warm, trip to Mead Open Farm. They had a really enjoyable time enjoying learning about the animals and taking part in the many other fun activities on offer. Thank you to the parents who supported us on the trip and allowed it to go ahead.
The Early Years Sports Day is nearly upon us and we look forward to welcoming parents, carers and families on Thursday 10th July at 9.15am. Spectators are invited to head to the field as soon as you have dropped your child off. Please bear in mind the 9.15am start time is a rough guide as we will start once all of the classes are outside and ready.
Children in Grasshoppers will need to come in their PE kits and for Butterflies, please make sure they are in shorts and t-shirts. The weather is looking very warm that day and despite the fact that we are holding the event in the morning, children will need suncream, a hat and a named water bottle please.
The KS1 and KS2 Sports Day follows on Friday 11th July with a start time of 9.15am. Again this is a rough approximation as we will only start once all of the classes are assembled and ready to go. Spectators should make their way to the field after dropping off children to their door in the morning.
The weather is forecast to continue to be very warm. All children need to wear their PE kit and need to have suncream, a sun hat and a water bottle.
End of Year reports for children from Year R to Year 4 will be emailed on Friday this week. If after reading the report, you would like to discuss your child's report, please make an appointment to see your child's teacher.
Woodpeckers have been busily rehearsing for their production of Hoodwinked next Wednesday. We are very excited to invite families to come and watch the performance. Every child will be allocated 3 tickets for each performance and we will shortly open up a payment item on Parentmail if you are able to make a donation to cover the cost of the performance license and the cost of props. Any excess will help to pay for the children's leavers t-shirts.
We don't issue a physical ticket and if you wish to offer your tickets to someone else, that is fine.
The dates that we invite families to attend are highlighted in bold. We will always try to keep these dates as advertised, althoug they are subject to change. This is particularly true for sports days which are dependent on the weather.
