After a long year, I am sure all of the children are looking forward to some downtime to relax and enjoy their summer.
Good luck parents, I know that keeping them busy for 6 weeks is no mean feat.
Hopefully you will all get the time to spend some quality time together and that the nice summer weather will hang around for August.
We look forward to seeing you all again in September and good luck to those children who are moving onto Priory and other new schools. You'll all be missed and we hope you remember Watling fondly.
Thank you to everyone for your continued support this year. We look forward to working with you all again next year and for those families who are leaving us, we wish you all the best for the future and your child's next school.
Well the weather certainly made fools of us on Monday. The weather forecast was so poor for Monday morning, and I didn't want the children to have nothing to look forward to, that I made the decision to cancel on Sunday and change the treat to bringing board games into school instead. As it turns out, there was barely a spot of rain all day. I hope the children all enjoyed sharing their games with their classmates instead and aren't too disappointed that we didn't get to go to Bennetts Rec.
On Monday afternoon, the Year 4s got to enjoy a Zorb Arena on the field for their leavers treat and they had a great time - bouncing into each other and learning how to roly-poly. Some even managing to land upside down so that their legs were sticking up in the air. I hope it's another great memory to add to their time at Watling.
I am pleased to announce that Kites House were our House Cup Winners this year. They have led the way for much of the year and I hope everyone is proud of their efforts to bring home the trophy. We start again at zero in September and we'll soon be earning points towards next year's trophy.
The Year 4s ended their time with us on Tuesday afternoon with their Leavers Assembly. They shared some of their favourite memories and songs with us and we want to thank the parents that came along and joined us for their last school event. Thank you Miss Baker for all of her hard work putting the leavers video together and to parents for contributing many pictures and video clips.
Due to the calendar, we only have one INSET day in September, the 1st, and so children in Years 1-4 are back in school on Tuesday 2nd September.
Nursery and Reception do not start until the following Monday 8th September.
